About Farhang Niroomand

A professor of international business and economics at the University of Houston-Victoria (TX), Dr. Farhang Niroomand previously spent eight years as dean. In the latter position, he ensured the business school’s compliance with accreditation standards outlined by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, managed the budget, and recruited new faculty. Additionally, Dr. Farhang Niroomand worked closely with the business community to identify internship and employment opportunities for business school students.

Dr. Niroomand holds a BA in economics from the National University in Iran, as well as an MA and a PhD in economics from Michigan State University. He serves as executive treasurer-secretary of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the prestigious international honor society for economics, and was selected for inclusion in the Princeton Premier Registry.

He also served as project director for "From Local to Global: The Internationalization of Business in Mississippi," funded by a Title VI-B grant from the United States Department of Education. In his free time, Dr. Niroomand enjoys attending concerts and Broadway shows.
